[Fantastic Five Friday] Five Television Characters I Would Trade Lives With

inspired by Broke and Bookish’s Top Ten Tuesday

Here is how it works: It’s be a weekly meme here at The Weekly Enthusiast. Each week I’ll post a new Fantastic Five list that I will answer here. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join, whether you have a TV/Film blog, book blog, personal blog. All I ask is that you link back to The Weekly Enthusiast on your own Fantastic Five list and comment on this post so that everyone can check out the other bloggers lists.

If you don’t have a blog, leave your answers in the comments and get to know other fellow bloggers.

5. Juliet O’Hara | Psych
Jules is one of those characters that, when you look at her, you assume she’s not going to be as awesome as she is. She’s accepting of Shawn’s interesting “talent,” deals with Lassiter being crazy and isn’t afraid to stand up for things that she’s passionate about. Plus, she and Shawn have excellent chemistry!

4. Piper Halliwell | Charmed
Piper was one of the first (not animated) characters I ever wanted to be when I grew up. She was smart, didn’t take crap from anyone, and still remained very down to earth and real. She was always the character that I identified with the most (and still do when I have a rewatch). On top of all her amazing attributes, add her power to freeze/blow up things, and the fact that the Piper/Leo romance was one of my first television ships ever… I would trade lives with Piper in a heartbeat.

3. Veronica Mars | Veronica Mars
Oh Veronica, aside from having severe commitment issues and always going for the wrong guy, I admire your spunk and can-do attitude. If you ever watch Veronica Mars you’ll notice that because of how much I’ve watched this series, I tend to speak like she does. Veronica is one of those characters that you would want to be friends with, but at the same time, be afraid of her awesomeness.

2. Donna Noble | Doctor Who
Being new to the Whoniverse, Donna quickly became one of my favorite characters after her guest appearance in the Doctor Who holiday episode. When they brought her back in season four, she endeared herself to me because she was the first compainion for the Doctor that had no romantic feelings for him. All she wanted was adventure. She was also the first of the companions that wasn’t afraid to tell the Doctor when he was being an idiot (which, let’s face it, is often). If that meant that I had to forget the Doctor to go on the adventure, I’d still do it. I’d still switch lives with Donna easily.

1. Claudia Donovan | Warehouse 13
Raise your hand if you’re surprised by this. No one? If there was ever a character that I would want to be more than anyone, it would be Claudia Donovan. She has an awesome job and team, and gets to do all the nerdy things that I love to do. I tend to like the snarky and sarcastic (snarcastic?) characters, ones that know when to stand up for themselves and how to make an awkward situation less awkward (though it doesn’t always work). Claudia is no different. On top of being snarcastic, she’s also a techie and a quotes a lot of pop culture things (sound like someone you know?). If you need more convincing as to why Claudia is an amazing character check out these few videos.

[Recap&Review] Switched at Birth` The Art of Painting

Meanwhile, Kathryn undermines John and their new lawyer Craig by selling her car and secretly giving some of the money to Brizia (the nurse from the night of the switch).

Emmett continues to struggle with speech therapy, and Olivia suggests an unusual way to help him relax. Bay becomes worried about his new living situation with his dad and lax girlfriend, who offers Emmett whiskey to help his speech. When Bay realizes Emmett’s lack of interest in school she confides in Melody, which ultimately makes things awkward between Bay and Emmett.

Patrick (the art gallery owner) invites Regina to put her masks and some other art pieces in his gallery opening. However, when Regina discovers the Patrick used her family’s switched at birth story to help sell her pieces, she’s less than thrilled. Luckily, Regina makes up with Patrick, and he tells her that some of her art was sold. (from abcfamily.com)

Fantastic Five Fridays! It starts.

Though I clearly watch a lot of television, I also really love reading. I follow a ton of book blogs and one thing that seems to be a regular occurence on a lot of them is something that Broke and Bookish started called Top Ten Tuesdays. Having seen these for a little while now, I just kept thinking this would be an excellent idea for TV/movie blogs to do as well.

So I’m launching my own version of it called “Fantastic Five Friday”.

Here is how it works: It’ll be a weekly meme here at The Weekly Enthusiast.

(Yes, I did pretty much take that whole explanation from The Broke and Bookish.)

So next Friday, check back here for the first installment of Fantastic Five Fridays!

[Recap&Review] Switched at Birth` Protect Me From What I Want

Coach Medlock later puts Daphne and Simone up against each other for a spot on the lineup.

Regina meets Patrick, an art gallery owner, at her salon, and he agrees to meet with Bay. But he ends up showing more interest in Regina’s old art pieces.

Kathryn learns that Emmett has an assignment to take a family portrait and offers up their family for the photo shoot, despite Bay’s protests. Emmett becomes upset after a portrait meeting with Kathryn when she mentions Bays relationship with Ty. Bay eases Emmett’s jealousy over Ty after he takes their family portrait. (paraphrased from abcfamily.com)
